About Louise Bongiovanni

A British-Italian translator and interpreter with vast experience of different countries and cultures, Louise grew up in the UK, spending summers in Sicily with her paternal grandmother, she has always lived between two cultures.

​

Studying Italian, German and French at the University of Exeter in the UK with an Erasmus year at the prestigious Università di Bologna in Italy she then went on to work as a translator at the European Commission in Brussels, Belgium before taking a Masters in Interpreting & Translating at the University of Bath, UK

​

Her studies were interspersed with many trips around the world and Europe and she has spent long periods of time in Germany, Italy, Slovakia, Belgium and Brazil

​

She now lives with her family in Nantes, France and regularly travels between the UK, France and Italy.

  • Teaching

As well as her interest in languages Louise has taught languages, including English for many years and has a teaching certificate (PGCE -Postgraduate Certificate of Education) to teach languages in secondary schools, as well as a TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language)

​

  • Music

Louise's other passion is music, a keen violinist and clarinetist â€‹with many years' experience

​

  • Capoeira

Louise has trained capoeira for many years - this Brazilian mixture of dance, music, martial arts, culture and Portuguese language is the perfect blend of everything she values.​
